This Privacy Policy was wholly revised and became effective on January 2, 2020. It was last updated on February 28, 2020 to add section 4.2, Usability Recordings.

If you choose to correspond with us via email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses.

We may send you emails about your registration, account, purchases, course progress, changes to our site, new and updated course content, technical support, surveys, invitations, reminders, receipts, marketing, or other content we believe you may be interested in.

If you choose to correspond with us via the chat widget on our website, we may retain the content of your chat messages together with your email address and our responses.

1.1.4. Course Usage Information

If you use our site while logged into the account you created, we may gather information about what course pages and videos you viewed or marked complete, and when.

If you participate in our Zoom live sessions (e.g. webinars) with your video camera or microphone turned on, write in the Zoom chat box, contribute to our site by publishing reviews or comments, taking quizzes or surveys, or submitting assignments ("Contributions"); then we may record and publish your likeness, voice, name, business name(s), business industry(ies), city, state or province, country, and any comments you may provide for use in our site and potentially in our promotional materials. You waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment, royalties, or ownership in connection with your Contributions.

1.2. Aggregate Website Usage Information

Similar to other commercial websites, this site utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”), Web server logs, and tracking codes to collect anonymous session information about how this site is used. This information may include the date and time of visits, Web pages viewed, time spent, clicks, devices used, your location, purchases made, the websites visited just before and just after our site, and more.

You may withdraw your consent for us to collect, use, store, or disclose all or some of your personal information by contacting us with the Subject, “Data Opt-Out”.

2.2.5. Third Party Opt-Out

Deleting your account from our site does not automatically delete your personal information from all of our third-party service providers. You may ask us to attempt to delete your personal information from our third party providers by contacting us with the Subject, “Third-Party Opt-Out”; however, we cannot guarantee how third parties will handle your data.

2.2.6 Delete User Contributions

You may delete or edit your course reviews and comments on an individual basis through your site account.

Video, audio, and chat text Contributions to Zoom live sessions cannot be deleted, edited, or have your consent withdrawn.

If you opt to delete your account from our site, then your course progress, reviews, quiz results, assignment submissions, and comments in communities will be deleted; however your course comments will remain attributed to an anonymous user.

In general, the third-party service providers we use only collect, use, store, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways, payment transaction processors, chat and email providers, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, listed below, we recommend that you read their privacy policies and terms of service, so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. 4.1. Website Servers

Our site is hosted by a third party company, Thinkific Labs Inc. (“Thinkific”). They also provide us with the online course creation application that allows us to sell our products/ services to you. As such, your information is stored through Thinkific’s data storage, databases, and the general Thinkific online application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall, which we cannot access. You may wish to read Thinkific’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

4.2. Usability Recordings

We use Hotjar to analyze how people use our site, so we can improve its usability. Hotjar records some user's interactions on some of our web pages, along with the user's country and timestamp. They mask all data typed into any web page forms. If you use our site while logged in to a registered account, then your profile name can appear on screen in some recordings. Hotjar stores these recordings on their servers, so you may wish to read Hotjar's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy "End Users" section.

4.3. Payment Processor

Purchases made on this site are processed by a third party company, Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). They encrypt payments through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our site and its service providers. 4.4. Email Provider

Some emails we send are processed through a third party company, ConvertKit LLC. (“ConvertKit”). As such, your personal information is stored through ConvertKit’s data storage, databases, and online application. You may wish to read ConvertKit’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

4.5. Chat Provider

The chat widget on our site is hosted by a third party company, HubSpot, Inc. (“HubSpot”). As such, your personal information is stored through HubSpot’s data storage, databases, and online application. You may wish to read HubSpot’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

4.6. Hyperlinks

When you click the links in our site, they may direct you away from our site, to third-party sites. When you click from our site to another website, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of third-party sites and encourage you to read their terms and policies.

5. Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure data is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, our third-party providers follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Some of the information you may enter on this site may be transmitted securely via Secure Sockets Layer SSL, 128 bit encryption services. Pages utilizing this technology will have URLs that start with HTTPS instead of HTTP.

Email and chat are not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send private information to us via email or chat.

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of legal majority in your area of residence. We do not knowingly provide our services to minors, and it is against our policies to store the personal information of minors.
